Discover a deeper connection to Napa Valley as you paddle through meandering wetlands, tracing the relationship between water, land, and wine. Water to Vine is designed to slow you down—inviting you to breathe, reset, and experience wine country from its quiet, living core.
Framed by restored estuary and open sky, this secluded Napa River experience unfolds at the edge of the Carneros Wine Region, where cultivated vineyards transition seamlessly into the 15,000-acre Napa–Sonoma Marsh—an exclusive encounter with Napa’s wild side.
Guided by a Napa Valley winemaker with a photographer’s perspective, the experience combines expert navigation, keen wildlife spotting, and a relaxed, confident flow. The paddle is gentle, unhurried, and designed to connect with nature.
Prefer to go at your own pace?
Self-guided paddles offer easy navigation, privacy, and short, immersive audio storytelling—perfect for wandering privately. The guided tour adds a local expert to spot wildlife, take a few great photos, and share insider food & wine tips, if and when you want them.

ACTIVITY LEVEL
Family-oriented paddling is best in the morning before 1 pm. This is safe, calm paddling environment with proximity to the shoreline at all times. Paddlers enjoy flat, calm water in a 5mph zone with very little boat traffic, particularly in the Oxbow. Paddleboarding at lower tide levels is not suitable for beginners. Paddling into the Oxbow generally requires over 1.5ft on the tide chart (we will advise you regarding the route)
PARKING
Plenty of parking is available in the 5th Street Parking Garage across the street from Riverfront Plaza. Street parking is limited to 2 hours on the street with no limits on Sunday.
WHAT TO WEAR
Water shoes are not essential but are preferred by many of our guests. Others prefer flip-flops or paddling barefoot. Dress in layers and synthetic clothing (it will dry faster than cotton).
WHAT TO BRING
Drinking water, sunscreen, light towel. We suggest using our dry bags or dry boxes for phones, wallets, and keys, or bring your own. We have a sports lanyard for your cellphone available for $20, free with our audio guide/navigational assistant.
